Damavand Ski and Snowboard Season

Mount Damavand ski touring period is mainly depended to the weather forecast and amount the of snowfall in the area. Generally speaking it is different each year. The ski season may starts from Mid November and last until mid May. Damavand ski tours generally go in March, April and May. If you intend to go to the Damavand summit you must be in very good physical fitness and and also be an experienced climber. See also Damavand Meteo.

Itinerary

We may offer you different custom designed ski itinerary for Mt Damavand. It all depends to your level of fitness. You may choose any intinerary, one week or more. 7 Days Skitour Damavand Iran

Day 1: Arrive to Tehran
Greeting at IKA International Airport Tehran and transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel in Tehran.

Day 2: Transfer to Damavand First Camp
Transfer to Camp 1 Polur Resort (altitude 2270 m) for acclimatization. No climbing or hard exercises and no pollution of Tehran weather. Overnight at Camp1 Polur Hut.

Day 3: Ski Touring To Damavand Third Camp
Drive by car (as far as car go up) towards the second campsite called Goosfand Sara. Then by slow walk, or on ski as far as the snow allows start trekking to Camp 2 Base and then continue to third camp called Bargah Sevom (altitude 4250 m). Overnight at Camp 3 New Hut.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day
Acclimatization day at Camp 3. Go to nearby heights and ski down to C3. Over night at Camp 3.

Day 5: Ski Mountaineering to Damavand Summit
Start climbing to Damavand summit (altitude 5671 m). Then ski down to camp 3. Overnight at Camp3 New Hut.

Day 6: Ski Descend
Ski descend and drive to Camp 1. Return back to Tehran. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 7: Reserved Day
Reserved day for extra acclimatization at camp 3, bad weather or when your team is tired. Visiting Larijan Termal Spring or sightseeing in Tehran. Overnight camp/hotel. Tour ends.

10 Days Ski touring Lasem and Damavand

You can make some modification to this package to best suit your program.

Day 1: Arrival Day
Arrive to IKA International Airport in Tehran. Your guide will welcome you at airport. Transfer to your hotel in Tehran. Short sightseeing in Tehran if you have time. Overnight Tehran hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Camp 1 Polour
Transfer from your hotel in Tehran to Camp 1 Polour (altitude 2270 m). O/N C1.

Day 3: Acclimatization Ski - Lasem Ski Resort
Ski mountaineering and acclimatization day. Enjoy full day ski touring in Lasem upto 4000-4200m. Ascent to Mount Doberar, Angemar or Changiz Chale peak. Descend back to the base. O/N C1

Day 4: To Damavand Camp 3 Bargah
Transfer by car as far as car go towards 2nd campsite and trekking by walk or on ski to Camp 2 GoosfandSara and continue to Camp 3 Bargah 4250 m. O/N Camp 3 New Hut.

Day 5: Acclimatization Ski- Camp 3
Skitouring and acclimatization day. Ski touring upto 4800-5000 m to nearby heights around Camp 3. O/N C3.

Day 6: Damavand Summit
Ski mountaineering to Mount Damavand summit 5671m. Full day ski to the top and downhill ski and descend back to camp3. O/N C3. Climbing Mount Damavand.

Day 7: Descend day
Descent to Camp 2 and transfer to Camp 1 and Tehran. O/N Tehran hotel.

Day 8: Reserved Day
Reserved day for bad weather, more acclimatization, or visiting Larijan Termal Spring, sightseeing in Tehran. O/N any campsite or Tehran hotel.

Day 9: Sightseeing Tour in Theran
Full day sightseeing tour in Tehran. O/N C1 hotel.

Day 10: Departure day
Transfer to the IKA Airport. Fly to your country. Tour ends.

• Accommodation: In Camp 1 Polour and Camp 3 Bargah Hut.

We transfer the following equipments to Camp 3 few days in advance and will be available at C3 before your arrival so you do not need to carry heavy gears by mule, porter or yourself:

Generally the following services are not included in Damavand tour packages.
• Domestic Flights.
• Hotel charges in Tehran.
• Porter and Mule.
• Thermal Spring.
• Medical/evacuation and trip insurance.
• Personal equipment.
• Unscheduled days/nights on the mountain.
• Unscheduled nights at Tehran hotel.

Insurance Important Note

We strongly recommended you to have all risk insurance that covering medical and evacuation from remote area. The insurance should cover also helicopter flight that could occured in Mt. Damavand expedition.
