Trekking Tour Mount Damavand. From mid autumn to mid spring, the higher slopes of Mt. Touchal are covered by snow. In cold winters it does snow in Tehran, the snow generally melts away after a few days of sunshine. The same is true for the south slopes of the mountain below 2700 m. But patches of snow remain on the higher slopes well into early summer.
Tehran is located at the southern slope of the mountain and the Mt. Tochal summit is only few kilometers away from the city center. Tochal Mountain is the best target for preparation and acclimatization before attempting Damavand Mountain. A very good summit to become accustomed to Iran mountains before trying the higher one.
