According to the Iranian Red Crescent, a specialized rescue team has been searching for the missing climbers after their deadly expedition. The team began their ascent on February 5, reaching a Damavand North Face 4000-Refuge the next day and a Damavand 5000-Camp on February 7. On the night of February 9, they attempted to reach the summit via the northern route, but disaster struck.

At 3:30 AM, the climbers contacted authorities, reporting that one of their female teammates had died due to extreme cold. They were advised to secure the body and descend via the southern route. However, severe Damavand weather conditions, including -45°C temperatures and wind speeds up to 80 km/h, made survival extremely difficult.

By February 10, one of the remaining climbers also succumbed to hypothermia. The last known location of the team was between 4,600 and 4,700 meters on the southern route. Search teams have been working tirelessly, using drones and helicopters, but heavy cloud cover and deep snow have complicated rescue efforts.

The Red Crescent warns that winter conditions on Damavand can be fatal, emphasizing the need for climbers to avoid such risky ascents. As the search continues, hopes of finding the remaining climbers alive are fading due to the brutal weather condition.
